Luckily, Jeff, from Chicago-based synth-punk trio Parsley Flakes is OK after an apartment fire late Saturday night. But that doesn't mean that he came away unscathed in the manner:
My apartment burned up late Saturday night. Luckily I was out drinking while it went a blaze because my room was pretty much completely ravaged by flame and then subsequently destroyed by the firemen with axes and hoses. I lost a lot of stuff, but I was able to salvage my musical equipment and my photographs...
I'm back in Cleveland right now for a few days to unwind but I'll be back in Chicago starting Monday. I'll be moving into my new place, cleaning the smoke and water off my belongings and slowly starting to rebuild my life. I didn't have renters insurance (who does?) so when I get back to Chicago I'll be setting up some kind of benefit show/dance party to try and ease the financial pain that I'm going through right now.
